Residents of the Assisted Living Apartments are responsible for themselves in the areas of dressing, grooming, going to and from the dining and activity rooms, and must be mentally oriented and socially compatible with other residents. Arrangements can be made for assistance with bathing and management of medications. The qualified staff assists the residents with daily life activities by passing mail, calling the doctor or family members, supervising and giving personal care when ill.
When the resident is no longer capable of caring for himself or herself, then he or she will be required to transfer to the Health Care facility. In the event a room on the Health Care facility is not available, the resident or family will need a referral to a Home Health Agency which can assist the resident until a room is available. The family and physician will be consulted before a decision is made to transfer the resident. The final decision rests with the administrative staff of SMRC.
